On Tuesday 4 th May the PsYonline website was officially launched with a conference at Edge Hill College in Orskirk, Lancashire. Over 80 AS students, their teachers and head teachers attended the event, where they were given the opportunity to explore the newly completed site.
Students were also able to use WebCT – an online conferencing tool. After a brief lesson in how to use the software, students soon got to grips with how to make the most it. The PsYonline team hope that the use of WebCT will greatly help students in their studies.
The team were really pleased with the day, feeling that all their hard work had paid off. One teacher remarked how good it was to see students enjoying using the site.
One student said:
“The website is great. I think it will really help me with my revision.”
Despite the rain, everyone had a good time. The PsYonline stickers, mouse mats and t-shirts were a big hit! At the end of the event there was even time for group photos before the journey back to school/college.
All in all, the conference was a real success. The team are looking forward to completing the material for the A2 level and getting it put on the site.
