What is a logbook?
The UPP Logbook is an online reflective learning journal about your experiences of studying undergraduate psychology. It is based on a model of reflective practice by Donald Schön and incorporates Kolb’s learning cycle.
What do I put in my Logbook?
Each page of your UPP Logbook asks you to reflect on a learning experience you have had. There are spaces to write about what you experienced, how it felt and what you learnt from it. Don’t worry, you can’t do it ‘wrong’. Simply follow the tips to journal your experiences.
Can I view previous entries?
Yes, you can view all previous entries in your logbook whenever you want to. You cannot, however, edit these entries and make amendments.
When should I add to my logbook?
You can add to your logbook at anytime and you can make as many entries as you like. The idea is that you add to your logbook when you feel that you have had a learning experience you want to record. So that you get some consistency in your logbook, you might like to take 2 minutes at the end of each week to ask yourself if anything has happened that you would like to make a note about – then login if it has. |
Who will see my logbook?
Your Logbook is your own; only you can see it. Members of the research team, or anyone from your institution cannot view your Logbook. Instead, it is designed as a learning tool for you, so that you can reflect on and assess the learning process you are going through. At the end of the project, you can decide to share your logbook, but there is no expectation that this will be the case.
How do I login for the first time?
In order to access your logbook, you need to create a password. You will be sent an email telling you how to set this up.
I didn’t want to do a Logbook, but now I do…
