Wirral Grammar School for Girls

Wirral Grammar School for Girls is situated in Bebington, on the Wirral in the North-West of England. The sixth form offers a range of approximately twenty-five Advanced level subjects, priding themselves on the quality of the courses they offer. The Psychology department currently operates with two full-time teachers and is growing rapidly, with approximately 100 students studying the subject. Psychology is proving to be one of the most popular subjects at AS and A-level, having recently increased student numbers by 400%. Exam results have exceeded the National Average for A-C% pass rate.

Victoria Cook

Victoria Cook graduated from Edge Hill College of Higher Education in 1999 with a BA (Hons) in Applied Social Sciences. She followed this with a PGCE at the Institute of Education at Manchester Metropolitan University in 1999-2000. She joined the staff at Widnes and Runcorn Sixth Form College in August 2000 to teach psychology at AS and A2 level. Victoria was promoted to team leader of the Runcorn campus in 2002 and Curriculum Team Leader for Social Sciences in July 2004. She started work at Wirral Grammar School for Girls in September 2005, where she currently teaches Psychology.

In addition, Victoria has also worked as an assistant examiner for both GCSE and AS level psychology and she is currently developing psychology materials that will be used on a CD ROM.
